FLOWERS OF CHAOS

VisualcontainerTv presents on ExhibitContainer - format dedicated to the most interesting international Videoart projects and festivals- "Flowers Of Chaos " Chinese Animation Videoart selection curated by Cecilia Freschini (independent curator based in Beijing) in collaboration with Artverona Fair (It)

Project Statement
The aim of this project is to highlight a specific sector of Chinese video art by focussing attention on its particular origins. What do the artists selected, all from the Chinese mainland, see when they look around?
Chaos! Overwhelming disorder, which they deal with through their voice: tales and allegories that investigate today's society in an ironic manner, though without being afraid of tackling the Party's heavy ideology.
Like plants growing in a hostile terrain, their roots burrow deep down towards an uncertain source of nutrition, and they proliferate in the depths, beyond naked social distress. They are flowers born from chaos, drunk with the energy that surrounds them, but also fatigued by the continuous and incessant process of urban modernization. In their search for an identity they are forced to elude the oppression that has so harshly tested their very creative survival.

VisualcontainerTV wants to share the "official opening" of the 6° STREAMING FESTIVAL on the web.
VisualcontainerTv presents on ExhibitContainer - format dedicated to the most interesting international Videoart projects and festivals- "Motion based collages reloaded ", a special screening from the 6°edition of Streaming Festival - International Videoart Festival from The Hague, NL.

About Streaming Festival:
Contemporary videoculture, Sound and 2D programs in the 6th edition of the Streaming Festival from 1 to 18 December 2011.

The Streaming Festival is an art event for independent artists exhibiting unconventional audio-visual art from all over the world. This event takes place once a year on www.streamingfestival.com.

The Streaming Festival is a non-profit project created to encourage the understanding of audio-visual art.
Naturally, the artists’ viewpoints differ from one another, whether in their subjects or in the way they created their work.
This edition aims to show a sample of that diverse contemporary videoculture while stressing the all-time significance of artistic development.
In addition to the many videos on display, this edition will première a whole new direction with the Sound and 2D programs.
www.streamingfestival.com

“In the traditional collage different materials and sources are composed onto a surface, but in this case, into a single digital video. This program is based on films using found footage, multiple video-channels, paintings and photographs that are rearranged, cut and (re-)edited into a layered composition. Motion based collages offer the possibility to the artist to make a statement without the need for an explicit explanation of their rearrangement or intentions, as they are open to interpretation by comparing the different visual elements”

About FESTIVAL MIDEN, KALAMATA, Greece
Festival Miden*, the first Greek video art festival presented in open public spaces, is an annual video art & new media cultural event held in Kalamata, GR.
The festival is founded, organized and curated by a team of contemporary Greek artists, who are all linked with Kalamata since childhood. It is an independent organization, supported by Kalamata’s Historic Centre Organization, the Messinia Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Kalamata.
The main purpose of the festival is the free presentation, promotion and development of Greek and international video art and new media art, in times dominated and defined by “image” and “technology”, creating a new, alternative, peripheral meeting point for emerging and established video and media artists from Greece and all over the world.

Since 2005, Festival Miden has been gradually established as one of the most successful and interesting video art festivals in Greece and abroad and has been a significant point of cultural exchange for Greek, European and international video art.
Festival Miden has presented screening programs, exhibitions and collaborations all over Greece, while collaborating with various art groups, art schools, art spaces, organizations and other festivals in Greece and internationally.
(*Miden means “zero” in Greek)

“A butter cow for a Zen poem. Acrobatic balance exercises in a “cylindric cube”. A water spill runs through a city while life rolls smoothly. The calm charm of a boy moulding clay objects in a stroboscopic whirlwind of images. An unusual way to serve breakfast. Thrown bags that come to life drawing us to unexplored abandoned areas of the city -and the mind. Sisyphean repetitions of “it” and the “self”.
Unexpected explorations, explanations and interpretations of the world, acrobatic studies, balances of the mind and semiotic games on perception, vision, communication, post-modern culture and linguistics.
Endless references, metaphors and displacements in a selection regarding the sensitive equilibrium of human existence and the fluctuations of life. Like stepping on one leg...”
By: Gioula Papadopoulou, Giorgos Dimitrakopoulos.

ANDERS WEBERG MONOGRAPHY

ANDERS WEBERG
MULTIMEDIA ARTIST (SWEDEN)
20 July - 7 September 2011
Only on VisualcontainerTV

VisualcontainerTv is glad to present on SpecialOne - format dedicated to the most interesting international multimedia artists - ANDERS WEBERG Videography from 2005 - 2011 selected videoart works.

About ANDERS WEBERG
Anders is an artist working in video, sound, new media and installations and he is primarily concerned with identity. The human body lies at the root of projects that formally and conceptually chart identity and its construction as a preamble to broaching matters of violence, genders, memory, loss or ideology in which personal experiences co-exists with references to popular culture, the media and consumerism. Specializing in digital technologies, he aims to mix genres and ways of expression to explore the potential of audio visual media.

He coined the term Peer-to-peer art or (p2p art) in 2006. Art made for - and only available on - the peer to peer networks. The original artwork is first shared by the artist until one other user has downloaded it. After that the artwork will be available for as long as other users share it. The original file and all the material used to create it are deleted by the artist. ”There’s no original”. The aesthetics of ephemerality.

Has exhibited at numerous art/film festivals, galleries, and museums internationally, including:
Museum of Modern Art 2011, Buenos Aires, Argentina. File Brazil 2007-2008-2011, São Paulo, Brazil; FutureEverything 2010, Manchester, UK; National Museum of Contemporary Art 2010, Athens, Greece; Beijing Contemporary Art Centre 2010, Beijing, China; Cape 09 Art Biennale, 2009, Cape Town, South Africa; Biennale of Sydney 2008, Sydney, Australia; National Museum, Szczecin, Poland; [10th] Japan Media Arts Festival, Tokyo, Japan; 13th Barcelona International Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art,SONAR, Barcelona, Spain; Scope New York, US; Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), Santa Fe, Argentina;Pocket Films , Centre Pompidou, Paris; Videoformes, Clermont – Ferrand, France and EMAF, European MediaArt Festival, Osnabrück, Germany.

“This selection of works is based on my artistic practise where the
work is triggered by a self experienced emotion and then distorted
radically in order to evoke moods or ideas.
The videos are very personal and close to me and for this exhibition
the first video 05.10.38 that I did within this theme in 2005 have
it's internet premier.
Enjoy and welcome into my world of multilayered, overexposed and
distorted emotions.” Anders Weberg

Microfailure concerns the diversity of views within the contemporary artistic phenomenon, this diversity is based on concrete realities, and aesthetic and giving life to this project on conceptual instability in video art.
The works of video artists selected by the University of Oradea Romania and VisualContainer

“The project is concerned with the diversity of opinions inside the contemporary artistic phenomenon; this diversity is based on different concrete realities, on virtual aesthetic directions which give birth to a certain conceptual instability in video art.
-What is the meaning of these „virtual errors”?
-What experimental philosophy can integrate not only the specula but also the error?
Is error an important component of aesthetic crisis which can generate and amplify the possibility of ANYTHING, ANYWHERE and ANYHOW?...”

NENO BELCHEV MONOGRAPHY

NENO BELCHEV Monography
Multimedia Artist - Bulgaria
3 May - 14 June 2011

only on VisualcontainerTV
www.visualcontainer.tv/

VisualcontainerTv presents on SpecialOne - format dedicated to the most interesting international multimedia artists - NENO BELCHEV Videography from 2004-2010 selected production.

About Neno Belchev
I am a multidisciplinary artist, who over the last few years has been working mainly in the field of video art installations, but I believe the most important thing being an artist is to have freedom of thinking. For me on fist place is the idea and after that I look for media, which is appropriate to present the idea. When I work, I try to understand the way, how we, the humans, perceive the world. How we interact with our surrounding environment. I hope my art works provoke different points of view in the minds of the observers, break their previous models of perceiving the world.

My task as an artist is to look through the cover of things in their real essence, to find the real value of the ideas, which makes the world go around. For me it is interesting to work on the borderline between cultures, which is not so visible in this complex - sometimes contradictory times of globalization. To provoke people to see how their own world is changing in front of their own eyes because of the influence of the diversity of nowadays cultures. For me, art is a form of communication with other people and the artist has in his/ her hands the art as tool, in which the opportunity to provoke and change the thinking of the others is hidden.

I believe there is art, pure art, which artists make for their own spiritual development as well as to find out the divine essence in their selves. This understanding of art is a way of life and a way of thinking with no commercial value.

Art is my way to be free.

LENS:Italian videoart observation point on VisualcontainerTV

A special selection from VISUALCONTAINER Italian Videoart Distributor

5 April - 2 May 2011
Only on VisualContainerTVhttp://www.visualcontainer.tv/

Curatorial statement:
We’re assisting with ever-growing doubts to the dramatic social and geographical events that are currently taking place in the European Union members, as having understood that what happens in any part of the Global Village will eventually affect all the others.
Also the world of contemporary art is being pushed by the urgencies of an ever-growing mixing up of several technologies and media languages, which overlap and join with the network of our daily life as ordinary people. And so, within such a confusion and restirring puzzle where ecological pressures melt with identity and global life urgencies that absolutely need responding, Italian videoart can become an effective observation point over what’s topical with both Italy and the wider image of Europe and beyond.
As multi-faceted as the social-cultural kaleidoscope of our contemporary age, the videos on show, listing among the latest additions to VisualContainer’s archive, become a magnifying lens of what’s happening around us: sometimes by creatively magnifiying small and ordinary pieces of daily life, other times by introducing us to more complex art visions which are full of lyrism, the authors are here travelling from the microcosme of our inner and proximal space to the greater stage of the society we’re developing with other inhabitans, in and out the national borders, in the present time and already out in the near future.

About Windows from Gaza for Contemporary Art
The space around us is limited, the ideas in us are unlimited. We came together to think about how we could
break out from here and reach the outside; and how we could open small windows and breathe fresh air. In
this restricted/cramped space – Gaza - we express ourselves in a cultural-bound artistic language, when we
talk to others. A language, that is part of us. “Gaza” is rich in details, that we try to illustrate using new,
descriptive colours.
A group of young artists, bound to a specific, geographic area, in which ideas converge. Deeply believing in
collective co-operation, they try to develop together the creative aspects in the art movement. They are
looking at the most recent contemporary art, that serves them to fully express their artistic abilities and put
them into form. The ideas and reflections of the group come to a synthesis, that is brought to public
attention by regularly holding meetings, exhibitions and workshops, in which both local and international
artists participate. Each of them has taken part in numerous international events in support of their culture,
their art concept, and their effort to interplay with others.
